Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 Review: An excellent multimedia tablet
The Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 is an entertainment tablet equipped with unique technical specifications of its kind, and with performance behind it that elevates it to the very high end of the sector (not only for the selling price of at least 799 euros). Let’s see it closely with ours review complete.
Design and Aesthetics
The product is anything but portable, given the size particularly high, which reach 20.39 x 29.33 cm, and a thickness that varies between 0.62 and 2.49 cm. Precisely the latter introduces one of the peculiarities, which make it unique, the presence of a rise, which allows it to be positioned at an angle, for better typing, rather than in parallel with respect to the work surface (as well as integrating speakers and connectors); it should be noted, therefore, that the thickness on most of the device will be 6.2mmwith a weight of 803 grams.
The thickness just mentioned, houses the mechanism made in steelthrough which to place the device in vertical, acting as a stand to all intents and purposes. The hinges are well made, they are stable and precise. An undoubtedly appreciated solution particularwhich allows you to turn the Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 into a multimedia center.
Given the positioning in the premium range, we note a particular attention to materials and its construction; such as the part in alcantara which prevents slipping on the surface, or in any case resistant materials, and without defections.
Connectivity physics it is represented by a door USB type-C 3.1 for charging, as well as a micro-HDMI in entrance; new and exclusive idea that greatly expands the possibilities of use, transforming the Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 into a real external monitor, for example for a computer or smartphone. Unfortunately it is absent the audio jack, we absolutely miss it.
Hardware and Specifications
The panel is a very great display from 13 inch diagonally, an LTPS with a resolution of 1350 x 2160 pixels, 10-point multi-touch, 60Hz refresh rate and HDR support. The details and sharpness are of an absolutely high level, with great precision from every point of view, well-calibrated colors (100% sRGB support) and with a sufficiently wide dynamic range. The refresh rate is only 60Hz it undoubtedly limits the experience, as well as its being an LCD, as colors can never be accurate to the same level as an AMOLED. There maximum brightness from 400 nits it is more than enough for indoor use, less outdoors.
The processor is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870octa-core with clock frequency up to 3.2Ghz, with an Adreno 650 GPU side by side. The configuration includes 8G of LPDDR5 RAM e up to 256GB UFS3.0 internal memory (not expandable). The performances are absolute top of the range, the startup times of the applications are very fast, it is possible to play with any title present on the Play Store, even at maximum resolution, enjoying a display as large as the most recent laptops available on the market. The system is also excellent dissipation of the heat, in the back does not overheat in any way.
Unlocking the Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 can only be done via the recognition of the 3D face, thanks to the presence of the front camera and the ToF sensor. Access times are absolutely very fast, as well as guaranteeing one greater safety compared to normal smartphones on the market.
The audio compartment is represented by ben 4 JBL speakers (even if the 3.5mm jack is absent, the adapter is integrated in the package), with support for the Dolby Atmos. The maximum achievable volume is very highone of the most powerful ever heard until now, with quality to leave with open mouth; the lows are there and are quite persistent, while the others are not never distortedwith precision and detail in every single frequency.
Finally, connectivity is represented by WiFi 6 802.11 ax dual band e bluetooth 5.2recalling the USB-C 3.1 generation and micro-HDMI with support for HDCP 1.4. There is no SIM slot, nor for memory expansion.
Operating system, camera and battery
The operating system is Android 11, with security patches updated to January 2022; the interface is fairly standardized, unfortunately we don’t notice a deep optimization for the generous size of the display, although still it is almost possible to enjoy an experience that is close to stock Android. The only additional modes concern the vertical forcing of applications, the blur of the background when making video calls, as well as a sort of beauty filter for the face.
Excellent, in addition to Kids Space designed for children, the area of entertainment; here it will be possible to find grouped all the contents and favorite applications, in relation to the logged in user. In the idea of creating a multimedia tablet suitable for the whole family, Lenovo rightly thought of adding the multi-user (with ad hoc recognition of the user’s face), or even switching on the display to the passage. Small things that hide big surprises in daily use, and improve life / day.
The photographic sector is represented by alone sensor front from 8 megapixels, of overall decent quality, more than aligned for video calls or conferences, nothing more (also given the size of the product). There battery is a component from 10’200mhwith fast charging a 30 watts; the autonomy is slightly lower than the other tablets, it will be necessary to recharge it every 2 days at most, and it is actually perhaps too much.
Lenovo Yoga Tab 13: conclusions
In conclusion Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 it is a tablet with excellent performance from all points of view, perfectly designed for multimedia use in the family, both in the software functions and in the aesthetics of the same (given the presence of the stand). Access to content is very fast, the audio sector is high leveland responsiveness is perhaps its greatest strength.
On the other side of the coin, however, we find a price really high, feeling the absence of the jack from 3.5mman AMOLED display and perhaps even the fingerprint sensor.
