Sony is recruiting talent for its newly established first-party studio in Malaysia, and is looking for a video game and film animator to help its work on one of PlayStation’s “best known and most beloved franchises.” This is a support studio to help the company’s various teams around the world, including Insomniac Games, Naughty Dog and Guerrilla Games.
“We are looking for talented, highly motivated, and creative animators to bring to life the next chapter in cinematic storytelling,” reads one job ad, as taken up by the organization’s freelance evangelist Shuhei Yoshida overnight. There is very little additional information in the announcement itself, other than a confirmation that the candidates will create “in-game animation and pre-rendering” as per the requirements of the project.
Many believe that the team is helping the PlayStation studio in San Diego, which is believed to be working on a new uncharted title. In reality, however, it seems to be collaborating with all of Sony’s top studios, so this listing could easily apply to Santa Monica and God of War Ragnarok or Guerrilla Games and Forbidden Horizon West.
