Messenger Rooms, released the final version of the app

Messenger Rooms, released the final version of the app

Last month, Facebook unveiled its “Messenger Rooms” alternative to Zoom and Group FaceTime and released it to a small subset of users. Now, Facebook has announced that Messenger Rooms is available to everyone.

The new app, as we have already said, allows users, even those who do not own Facebook, to participate in video calls with over 50 people. Obviously in this period of social distancing we say that it is a wonderful novelty.

How does Messenger Rooms work?

Today Facebook, on its blog, explained more specifically how the new app works of the IT giant. “You can start and share rooms on Facebook via news feeds, groups and events, so it’s easy to scroll around whenever you want. You can choose who can see and join your room or remove people from your room and block the room if you don’t want others to join ”.

The “Room” will appear at the top of the feed news or through notifications. Facebook points out that you have full control over who joins to your Room, whether it’s someone from your friends list or only those you share the link with.

There are still some limitations despite today’s larger version. For example, Facebook users in North America only they can create a Messenger Room from Facebook itself; other countries will just create rooms from the Messenger app only. You can get started by downloading the Facebook app and the Messenger app from your digital store.
