How to use a laptop as a second display for a pc

Using a second display for your PC leads to a number of significant benefits (more space for apps, ability to keep multiple windows open at the same time, etc.). Pc: use a laptop as a secondary display

Windows

Preparing the handset for use as a second display:

  1. Turn on the laptop;
  2. Enter the settings;
  3. Select the “System” item;
  4. Click on “Projection on this PC”;
  5. Under “Some Windows and Android devices can perform projection on this PC when you allow it” select “Available everywhere”;
  6. Under “Request projection on this PC” select “Every time a connection is requested”.
  7. At the item “Request PIN for association” choose the option that best suits your needs.

Make sure the laptop is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the primary PC. After that, the procedure to follow is:

  1. Turn on the primary PC;
  2. Open the settings;
  3. Select the “System” item;
  4. Click on “Screen”;
  5. In the “Multiple displays” section, locate your laptop to use as a secondary display and click on it to start the connection.
  6. For the purpose of the same section, you can change the display mode to your liking.

macOS

In this case, the premises to be made are different. The two Macs must have both installed macOS Monterey or later, they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and they must both be associated with the same Apple ID. That said, the procedure to follow is:

  1. From the primary Mac, open the control center (icon of the two switches at the top right of the display “;
  2. Click on the item “Screen”;
  3. In the “Connect to:” section, select the secondary Mac to use it as a second display (option also available for iPad).
