Final Fantasy VII Remake demo is available right now on PS4

The long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake is just over a month away, but of course we all want to play it right now, dammit. Our very own Sammy Barker recently handled the title, but if you want to try it out for yourself, you’ll receive a free demo on PlayStation 4. The good news is that this demo is available for download right now.

The demo’s release date has been up in the air for a while, but it looks like GameSpot accidentally leaked a March 3 arrival. It turns out that this date was almost correct… you can catch it today, March 2, a day earlier than expected.

  Game of the Year: # 4 – Fallout 4 (PS4)

What does the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo include, you ask? Well, the PlayStation Store listing tells us that you will be able to play through the first chapter of the game. This includes the Mako Reactor 1 bombing mission, which we’ve seen before at E3 2019. Of course, this time you’ll be able to try your hand at in-game combat. However, progress made in the demo will not carry over to the full game, so keep that in mind.

The demo comes in at around 7.5GB, which is considerably less than the full game’s 100GB file size. It shouldn’t take long to download, and it’s free, so why not give it a try? Are you going to take Final Fantasy VII Remake for a spin with this demo, or are you going to save it all for April 10? Put your PS4 into rest mode in the comments below.
