This bug prevents you from making a call in Android Auto with voice commands | Technology

Many users comment that it is practically impossible to make calls with voice commands in Android Auto due to a bug.

Although Android Auto has already passed on to a better life in terms of the mobile application, we can continue to take advantage of it through the driving mode of the Google assistant.

And it is that voice commands are essential for users to keep their eyes on the road and at the same time be able to interact with Android Auto without being entertained for a single second.

However, the voice commands with the Google assistant are great when we want to make a call, simply by dictating the number and the person that we have in the agenda.

But now many Android Auto users point out that making a new call using voice commands is practically impossible.

One of the users comments that “when I use voice command to make outgoing calls, the call never connects. He recognizes the name and number and says he’s dialing, but the call never connects,” he states on the Google support forums.

This bug has been reproducing since the beginning of June, and it is unknown if Google has included it in a future update, although it seems that it is since one of the Google engineers on the official forums has confirmed it. They are already investigating the problem.

Although this does not mean that in a future update we will have already solved this problem with the issue of voice commands when making calls through Android Auto, it is likely that we will have a solution in the short term.

In any case, none of the workarounds proposed by the user community have fixed the issue, so if you’re having trouble making calls with voice commands on Android Auto, just wait for a new update.
