The SDXC format will break through in 2010

Several major laptop manufacturers, including Dell, Lenovo and HP, are preparing new laptop models based on the new Intel architectures manufactured using 32nm processes in which new card readers based on the SDXC standard will be integrated that will enhance the SD standard up to a theoretical 2TB capacity per card.

This standard maintains compatibility and card formats with the current SD, MiniSD and MicroSD so there is no concern regarding backward compatibility with current and even old cards and opens up new possibilities where I don’t think we will see 2TB of capacity in quite some time but we will exceed current capabilities thanks to the incorporation of this new standard in PCs, players, phones, etc.
