Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 will give life to high-end terminals in 2016


The new processor will use a custom architecture based on ARMv8 design. It will be manufactured using a 14/16mm FinFET (three-dimensional design semiconductor) process and therefore manufactured by TSMC or Samsung.

The new architecture of this processor, which of course will be 64-Bit, is called Kryo. At the moment there are not many more details except that it will be part of a new platform under development where Qualcomm will also incorporate a new biometric control system using ultrasound-generated fingerprint images. This system can even be seen on some devices before the end of the year.
