Sony has already announced that the PlayStation 5 (PS5) will be released at the end of 2020 and it says the system will be the fastest console in the world. In a vacancy for a Senior Cloud Engineering Manager, Sony is looking for extra hands to build the next generation of cloud infrastructure.
Fastest console ever
Later in the job posting it explains what the successful candidate will do in the role: “You will manage distributed systems that power 100+ million PS4 consoles that provide immersive gaming experiences. You will also become one of the leaders of an elite team that is super excited to launch the fastest console (PS5) in the world in 2020. ” The last sentence has since been removed from the vacancy.
Whether the console from Sony is actually the fastest system will have to be revealed at the end of 2020, when the new Xbox (Project Scarlett) will also be released. Previous rumors have suggested that the new Xbox will be more powerful than the PlayStation 5. A well-known insider, Klobrille, claims that the next Xbox will not only deliver more performance than the PS5, but will also be clearly better. “I know Anaconda strives to be the (clearly) better performing device,” Klobrille said on the popular gaming forum ResetEra.
The source supported this claim by sharing evidence with ResetEra admin Nibel. “Klobrille has just sent me something that I cannot go into detail for security reasons, but the information seems to be legitimate,” Nibel writes in a response.
It does not stop there, because Ainsley Bowden, editor of Seasoned Gaming, says he has heard the same from various sources. “The details of the PS5 hardware were exactly what we hoped for, even more than what many expected. However, several insiders have confirmed that the Xbox Anaconda will be more advanced. ”
