PC will analyze soil conditions in Xallitic in case of flooding – El Democrata

The municipal director of Civil Protection in Xalapa, Luis Sardiña Salgado, explained that an analysis of the soil conditions will be carried out in the Xallitic neighborhood area, since sand deposits have been identified, which with intense rains causes significant puddles and flooding.

«We have a problem of underground sandbanks, I discussed it yesterday with the director of public works and we actually went to check it personally, we knocked on the door to see the flooding, three houses were affected, no more, the water level did rise, there you can see some cars that are two or three, but since the sidewalks are high so we did not have a greater impact ».

He pointed out that some work must be done to avoid this situation and that they are already studying it.

“There what we have to do is check the underground aspect, land of the sanitary and storm drains to get what we saw yesterday.”

The municipal official said that an analysis will be made in this regard so that it is delivered to the Municipal Water and Sanitation Commission to carry out urgent desilting work.

“There is also another important aspect, I say it with respect, let’s not throw garbage in the street please.”

He said that in Xalapa there are nine areas susceptible to flooding, landslides and puddles, which is where they have paid the most attention and where the population must participate by avoiding taking out garbage on public roads without hearing the bell.
