PC Factory Compensation: who will receive it and how to check with my RUT when it will arrive

After a Voluntary Collective Procedure (PVC) before the National Consumer Service (Sernac), the company Fábrica de PC will compensate more than 50 thousand people after a series of breaches after making online purchases; mainly delays in product shipments, purchase cancellations, lack of stock, among others.

The agreement implies a disbursement of around 186 million pesos for the company. As detailed by Sernac on its official website, those affected would receive from $1,000 to a maximum of $463,363, which responds to the application of an economic model designed to calculate compensation in this case.

who will be paid

The PC factory must compensate the “cost of the claim” to those consumers who are part of the agreement and who went to Sernac, an amount that varies depending on the channel used by the consumer to file their claim with the agency.

For example, if a person filed their claim through the call center, they will receive for this concept an amount equivalent to 0.021 UMT (approximately $1,150); to 0.023 UMT (approximately $1,262) if you did it through the website www.sernac.cl; Already 0.15 UMT (approximately $8,232) if you attended in person.

how will it be paid

The compensation amounts will be paid, at the consumer’s choice, by bank transfer to the account designated by the customer; or by issuing a PC Factoryusable Purchase Coupon on the company’s website, valid for one year from its issuance, non-transferable.

Fábrica de PC must inform consumers through different channels (email, letter to home address, by telephone), among others, the amount of the corresponding compensation and the alternative means of payment.

In the event that the consumer does not choose payment method options, or does not provide their data to do so through any of the aforementioned means, a coupon will be issued in their name.
