Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus are official: here are the new 2017 mid-range
The Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona has begun to welcome the new recruits of the 2017 smartphone market who today saw mobile telephony giants such as Nokia, Blackberry, Huawei and even Lenovo on the field. Moto G5 And Moto G5 Plus it covers the mid-range of the market.
This is what Lenovo has brought to light with its new and intriguing terminals.
Moto G5 – Details, availability and price
Let’s start by introducing the standard G5 which offers a Qualcomm SoC among its specs Snapdragon 430 octa core on compact display in 5-inch format and resolution FUll HD @ 1920 × 1080 pixels. In the power sector we also find an allocation of 2GB RAM memory and a 16GB storage memory possibly expandable through a special external slot for microSD Card. The US market will instead offer the standard 32GB variant.
Going into the specifics of the multimedia sector, we have the cameras that correspond to a 13 Megapixel single-lens main module with f / 2.0 focal aperture and a front wide-angle lens with 5 megapixel and f / 2.2 lens.
The battery offers a total of 2,800mAh more than enough to cover the day of use, due to a not too greedy display and a modest processor. Furthermore, you will be able to count on fast charging systems to be supplied thanks to TurboPower technology.
The phone is natively a Dual SIM and on the software side it bases its effectiveness on a Google distro based on Android Nougat out-of-the-box version 7.0. The device is quite compact and manages to develop its power in only 144.3 x 73 x 9.5 mm and 144.5 grams of weight. The marketing of the product is expected to start next March 2017 in the reference markets and at a price of € 199.
Moto G5 Plus – Details, availability and price
The Moto G5 Plus offers as desirable a slightly more powerful basic hardware equipment than its younger brother and passes for a 5.2-inch diagonal display with Full HD resolution @ 1920 × 1080 pixels. In this case the RAM allocation increases by 1GB reaching the 3GB threshold and offers a storage compartment for the standard 32GB memory, always expandable. Second market can also present itself in versions 16-64GB ROM and 2-4GB RAM.
The Qualcomm SoC Snapdragon 625 takes care of managing the processing and the multimedia sector uses a rear solution in a single 12 Megapixel lens with a focal aperture of f / 1.7 and pixels with a diameter of 1.4 microns while for the front we have the same camera as the original 5G.
In the face of an increase in performance and in the size of the display, a 3,000mAh implementation has been planned for the battery which also in this case brings back the possibility of fast charging on the TurboPower system. The device slightly increases the dimensions as well as the weight settling on 150.2 x 74 x 9.7 mm and 155 grams of weight.
The planned marketing on international markets is expected to start next March 2017 at a list price of € 299.
Both smartphones share the same construction process based on an aluminum body that offers resistance to fine dust and water according to standards and a fingerprint sensor that Lenovo has placed on the front of the body in correspondence with the Home button.
The same key offers access to touch gestures, increasing productivity and ease of access to the functions most commonly used by the user. In fact, with this new series Lenovo abandons the old approach to refer to an idea that satisfies the user on the interactivity side. Towards the outside we find the micro-USB type interfaces and the NFC chip which is the exclusive prerogative of the Plus variant.
