Microsoft today officially introduced Windows Home Server

In this way Microsoft tries to enter the market of file servers and backup copies for home networks. With Windows Home Server we can turn a PC with reduced features into a NAS with advanced features.

Functions such as sharing all kinds of files in an organized way between all the PCs on the local network, automatically making backup copies of all the computers on the network and recovering specific files or entire systems just by inserting a CD on the client machine.

Windows Home server is also open to third party applications so soon we will be able to see even more variety of applications and functions. What we do not know is if this package will be sold in the retail market or only in OEM format. At the moment Microsoft has the support of the following manufacturers: Medion, HP, Iomega, Maxdata and Fujitsu Siemens.

Architecture: designed a solar-powered house with bubble windows

These machines are designed to store a good number of hard drives as a fundamental basis for the work of this type of server. Their prices will be high so it gives me that the conventional NAS solution will continue to be the one chosen by most of us.
