Microsoft Office migrates its applications to XML formats
Currently, the aim is to find greater compatibility between systems, so that they can share data reliably and securely. XML can be the solution, since its main characteristic is that it has several technologies around it to facilitate the work.
XML is not a programming language, but a set of languages, and therefore it does not have a single syntax but several, since it uses several technologies. That is why Microsoft has decided that in the next generation of Office software it will use XML technology, replacing the current Word, Excel and PowerPoint document formats with others based on XML.
This will allow the documents of the Office package to be read by other applications, something that until now was quite complicated.
In addition, it must be remembered that this initiative is not specific to Microsoft, there are other editors on the market of great quality and acceptance that have been using XML for a long time.
