Microsoft launches Windows XP N forced by monopoly lawsuits

Until recently, Microsoft has had serious problems with its operating systems, as it was blamed for monopoly in Europe. This has forced Microsoft to stop distributing Windows Media Player on its operating systems.

That is why Microsoft has created a new version of Windows XP in which there is no such player, which has obtained the approval of the European Commission.

This new version of Windows XP extends both to the Home version and to the Professional version, obtaining the name Windows XP Home Edition N and Windows XP Professional N, respectively. Although initially these versions would be called “Windows XP Reduced Media Edition”, a name that was rejected by the Commission, because it belittled the product and encouraged to buy the one that had the Windows Media Player.

As for the release date, these versions of Windows will be available to manufacturers on June 15 in different languages such as English, French, Italian and Spanish; and on July 1st for other distribution channels.
