Lenovo will offer the ThinkPad 13 laptop with Chrome OS or with Windows 10
The ThinkPad 13 is a new 13-inch laptop that adds to the entire arsenal with which Lenovo has come to CES 2016. This time it is a somewhat more modest model than those we have seen so far and that will arrive in two completely different flavors : You can choose with the full Windows 10 operating system or Google’s Chrome OS.
Its hardware will be different depending on the chosen system, so for the Windows 10 model we will have an Intel Core i5 processor in the most powerful version, with up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD storage. You will also not be short of USB 3.0 and USB Type-C.
The version with Chrome OS will have a limitation of 8 GB of RAM and a more important handicap: it will only have 32 GB of storage. Nor will it feature the characteristic TrackPoint “joystick” that Lenovo inherited after buying the laptop division and IBM.
The Windows 10 version of the Lenovo ThinkPad 13 will cost $499, while the Chrome OS model will be $100 cheaper with a retail price of $399. The Windows model will arrive in April and the Chrome OS model will be delayed until June.
