Intel Introduces New SSDs in mSATA 525 Format

The Intel 525 are solid state drives or SSDs in an ultra-reduced format for mSATA 6 Gb/s connectors on mini PCI-Express ports that will allow the new tablets and Ultrabooks to be provided with greater capacity and access speed. These new discs are capable of offering sequential reads and writes of 550 and 520 MB/s respectively, speeds typical of any current conventional 2.5 sized SSD. Random write operations go as far as 80,000 operations per secondstaying at 50,000 for reading, again very good figures for a device of this size.

They are made up of NAND flash memory cells manufactured at 25 nanometers managed by a SandForce SD-2281 controller, achieving models ranging from 30 up to 240 GB capacityIn between, we have 60, 90 and 120 GB models, all with a 5-year warranty.
