Little by little we are getting to know more details about the next generation of Intel Xeon processors codenamed Sapphire Rapids. The latest information that came from Intel revealed the use of up to 64 GB of memory HBM2e integrated into the chips themselves, and now we can see what the first motherboards prepared to house two of these new high-performance processors will look like.

The new processors Sapphire Rapids of Intel will have a considerable size, you only have to see the 4,677 pins that the socket will have, worth the redundancy, LGA4677-X. In the leak you can see a board with two of these sockets, each accompanied by nothing more and nothing less than 16 slots of DDR5 RAM to form a set total of 32 slots.

DDR5 RAM can be used in combination with the HBM2e integrated in the Sapphire Rapids processors in different operating modes, either using the HBM2e as a cache for this DDR5 or combining both types of RAM in a shared memory space.

Sapphire Rapids is expected to arrive in configurations up to 80 coresbased on past leaks. The nuclei will have Intel Golden Cove Architecture, the same one used in the Alder Lake family of high-performance P-Cores for home environments. On its release date, it seems that we will not see them until the end of the year.
