How to turn off automatic podcast downloads on iPhone and iPad

Podcasts have become one of the most popular entertainment methods. Even before they took flight, however, Apple already allowed us to listen to and download our favorite shows from your Podcasts app. This comes natively built into iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and even a web version.

Although the application works like a charm and has a fairly intuitive interface, it has a problem that is sometimes difficult to solve. Said problem is the automatic downloads that start without us noticing and can consume part of our monthly data plan.

Therefore, today we are going to show you How to disable automatic downloads of the Podcasts application on your iPhone or iPad. In a few simple steps you will be able to start listening to your programs without fear of them being downloaded in the background; something that will not only end up affecting your data consumption, but also your internal storage.

  1. Open podcast on your iPhone.
  2. Go to the Library tab.
  3. Enter one of the podcasts to which you are subscribed. Once on the main screen for that channel, tap on the three dots in the top right corner.
  4. tap Environment.
