How to prevent ads from being added to the main menu on PS4
Go to Settings
From the home menu screen (where your PS4 app icons are displayed), press up and look for the toolbox icon labeled `Settings. Select it with the X button.
Go to the System submenu
From the `Settings` menu scroll through the list of options until you see an entry labeled `System and select it using the X button.
Go to the Automatic Downloads submenu
From the System submenu, scroll down the list of options until you see an entry labeled Automatic Downloads and select it using the X button.
Turn off featured content
In the Automatic Downloads submenu you will see an option called Featured Content. You’re going to want to make sure that it’s disabled (ie, that there is no check in the corresponding box). Disable this feature and you will definitely get rid of those annoying ads in the start menu. Hurrah !
