Final Fantasy XI for Windows on the 28th
The North American company announced today that Final Fantasy XI, the first online game in the saga, will be available in North American stores starting on the 28th of this month. The Windows version will include the “Rise of the Zilart” expansion pack and other applications on five CDs, priced at US$49.99.
Final Fantasy XI subscribers will receive a free 30-day period for online services (excluding connection fees). This period will begin when players create their first character or ‘Content ID’ and additional characters and ID’s will also be free until the trial period ends. After these first 30 days, players can continue playing Final Fantasy XI by paying a monthly fee of $12.99 for a single character, and can create up to 15 more for $1 each per month. The online version of the popular Tetra-Master ‘mini-game’ from Final Fantasy XI will also be included in the box and for a price of $1 as well. All these monthly payments can be made by credit card.
PlayOnline will not only serve users as a platform for online gaming, but also provides a portal with other services such as communication tools (e-mail), list of friends, games, technical support, file downloads or audiovisual customization.
In the game, users will be immersed in numerous adventures throughout the world of “Vana’diel”, which has more than 100 areas to explore, such as mountains, forests, deserts, oceans, rivers, castles, etc. .. Players will create their own character, being able to choose from the variety of races, facial features, hair and colors that Final Fantasy XI includes.
