We are a couple of weeks away from the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake on PlayStation 4. To celebrate the arrival of this long-awaited rebirth, Sony and Square Enix have teamed up for an official bundle that allows fans to purchase a PS4 console with a copy of the game. game in the box The downside is that, for now, it has only been confirmed for Japan.

A nifty bonus, however, is a dynamic theme with that FFVII signature image. On the Japanese PlayStation Blog, it is emphasized that these packs will be very limited. The regular PS4 bundle is 29,980 yen plus tax, and the Pro bundle is 39,980 yen plus tax. Google tells us that these prices roughly translate to $275 and $367 respectively.
Although this is not the end of the story. On the same page, a special faceplate for the standard PS4 model is also announced. This allows you to replace the top cover of your console with a Final Fantasy VII Remake themed one:
If you were to buy this in addition to the normal PS4 bundle, you would have a special edition console. It’s a bit of a roundabout way of doing things, but there you go.
We hope that these products will be available to the Western public as well, since we imagine that many people would buy them. With the current state of things, however, that is perhaps unlikely.
