Chrome will block Flash after the summer

Chrome will block Flash after the summer

The engine will always be deactivated and the HTML5 content alternative will be actively searched for on each web page. If this is not present on the page we visit, then it will ask us if we want to activate Flash content or not. This measure will not apply to a handful of pages that Google considers “criticisms” among which are its own YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and some more where Flash will continue to work normally.

This measure will only be maintained for one year, after which the blocking will be complete for all the pages that we visit with Chrome, unless we manually enable Flash. Google believes that currently the HTML5 web standard it is more than mature and has all the multimedia benefits of Flash without the systemic issues of security, hardware consumption, etc.
