Apple: iOS 15 will not arrive on iPhone 6S and iPhone SE
Despite iOS 14 has recently arrived on Apple devices, the latter is already thinking about iOS 15. According to a report by The Verifier, the update will not arrive on iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone SE. Will it really be like this? Let’s try to understand it together.
Cupertino is already working on the future big update for iPhone, iOS 15. At the moment, there is no precise information regarding what will be the key features. What is certain is that the news, compared to the past, will be substantial. Not all devices that now support iOS 14, however, will also support the 15. Here’s who will be excluded.
Apple: Older devices cut off from iOS 15
According to what was reported by the The Verifier, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, and iPhone SE will not support the new iOS 15. The devices would be too “out of date” to guarantee adequate execution performance. iPhone 6S arrived on the market in the now “distant” 2015. iPhone SE, on the other hand, in 2016. After 5/6 years of support, the aforementioned iPhone users will definitely retire. According to forecasts, the supported devices will be:
- iPhone 12 Pro Max
- iPhone 12 Pro
- iPhone 12
- iPhone 12 mini
- iPhone SE (2020)
- iPhone 11 Pro Max
- iPhone 11 Pro
- iPhone 11
- iPhone XS Max
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XR
- iPhone X
- iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 7
- 7th generation iPod touch
Those advanced by the site are simple assumptions. Therefore, it is not said that the iPhone 6S and SE are necessarily excluded. Will Apple surprise us with one more year of support? Look forward to further updates on this.
