Dozens of people replied to the photo: “I would wait”, one wrote, while another has tweeted: “Next time just give the boy the passcode.”

A person who has contacted a friend who works for Apple said that not good news for the iPadwriting: “Nothing they can do – they will never be able to use it again.

“They can try to connect it to a computer with iTunes and put it in Firmware Update mode of the device and clean it but I doubt it would work.”

Another joked: “Did the kid get his hands on the iPad just when the 12,000,000 minutes of the previous block ran out?”
